Son time

I could hardly wait to get out in the sun after church today. Hurriedly I changed clothes and prepared lunch for everyone. When all were happily filled I rushed out to the porch. Snow is in the forecast for this week and I knew my time basking in that warm glow of sun rays would be limited.
It occurred to me that the disciples may have felt the same urgency when spending time with the Son. Christ had foretold His pending departure and it must surely be ever present in the minds of those who loved him. I tend to get this way anticipating the time when my husband has to leave home again for Army assignments. The last meal, the last evening together, the clock ticks away cruelly at our last precious moments before his departure. I treasure those rare special times we get to relax together and soak them up physically, mentally, spiritually as those rays of sunshine before the snow.
